ACTIVITIES / BONDAGE
BONDAGE
CONTAINMENT SHARPENS SENSATION.
Once you are bound, your body listens differently.
Rope for breath and geometry. Leather and steel for consequence.
THE CONDITION
I am less interested in bondage as decoration than I am in what restraint does to attention.
You reach for something and cannot reach it.
You adjust your weight and discover the structure has already decided where it will go.
The body begins negotiating with an environment that does not negotiate back.
That interests me enormously.
Professional bondage can mean cuffs, leather, straps and rope. It can also mean straitjackets, bodybags, mummification, cages, frames and forms of immobilisation in which containment becomes the entire psychological condition of the session.
MATERIAL
Different materials produce different thoughts.
Leather has weight.
Steel is indifferent.
A bodybag removes unnecessary choices.
A straitjacket makes resistance strangely intimate.
Mummification reduces the body gradually until movement becomes an idea rather than an action.
I choose restraint according to the effect I want, not according to how impressive the equipment looks.
WHEN MOVEMENT DISAPPEARS
Eventually the struggle changes.
There is the first instinct to test everything.
Then calculation.
Then conservation.
Then, sometimes, stillness.
That transition is why I return to containment repeatedly.
Minimalism is not absence.
It is discipline made visible.
